1. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

• Account Information: Full name, email address, phone number, and password when you create an account
• Profile Information: Street address, city, state, ZIP code, and optional profile photo
• Payment Method References: Payment handles for third-party payment services (PayPal email, Venmo handle, Zelle contact) that other users use to pay you directly
• Tool Listings: Photos, titles, descriptions, categories, deposit amounts, daily rates, and availability of tools you list
• Communications: Messages exchanged with other users through our in-app chat, including text and images (such as payment confirmation screenshots)
• Reviews and Ratings: Ratings and written reviews you leave for other users or receive from them

Information Collected Automatically

• Precise Location: With your permission, we collect the precise geographic coordinates (latitude and longitude) associated with your address to enable radius-based tool discovery and match you with nearby users
• Approximate Location: City-level location derived from your address for general marketplace matching
• Device Identifiers: Expo push notification tokens used to deliver in-app notifications and alerts
• App Interactions: Search history within the app, booking flow progression, and feature usage
• Crash Reports and Diagnostics: Basic performance data automatically collected by our app development framework (Expo/EAS) to identify and fix bugs

Information We Do NOT Collect

To be clear about what we do not collect:

• We do not collect credit card, debit card, or bank account numbers. All user-to-user payments occur through third-party services (PayPal, Venmo, Zelle) that handle their own payment data.
• We do not read your text messages, emails, phone contacts, calendar events, or web browsing history.
• We do not use third-party analytics SDKs.
• We do not sell or share your data with advertising networks.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Facilitate tool rentals and purchases between users
• Display listings, matches, and search results based on your location
• Send booking confirmations, reminders, refund notifications, and account alerts
• Enable communication between Lenders and Borrowers
• Track completed transactions for tax and legal record-keeping purposes
• Verify user identity and prevent fraud
• Improve our services and develop new features
• Respond to customer support requests
• Comply with legal obligations

3. Information Sharing

We share your information only in the following circumstances:

• With Other Users: Your full name, profile photo, ratings, reviews, address (city and state only until a booking is confirmed), and payment method handles are visible to Lenders and Borrowers you transact with. Once a booking is confirmed, the counterparty receives full pickup address details.
• Service Providers: We use Supabase to host our database and Expo to deliver push notifications. These providers are not permitted to use your data for their own purposes.
• Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect our rights, safety, or the rights and safety of others.
• Business Transfers: If Naaabaaly is acquired or merged, user information may transfer to the new entity subject to the same commitments in this policy.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not share your data with advertising networks or analytics providers.

4. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information:

• Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
• Secure password hashing (bcrypt)
• Row-level security policies restricting database access to authorized users only
• Regular security audits and vulnerability scanning
• Limited employee access to personal data on a need-to-know basis

5. Your Rights and Choices

• Access and Update: You can access and update your profile information through the app at any time
• Delete Account: You can request account deletion through the app (Profile → Delete Account) or on the web at naaabaaly.com/delete-account. See Section 6 for details on how deletion works.
• Location Services: You can disable location access in your device settings, though this may limit app functionality
• Push Notifications: You can manage notification preferences in your device settings
• Data Portability: You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you by contacting support@naaabaaly.com

6. Account Deletion and Data Retention

Account Deletion Process

When you request deletion of your account:

• Your account is scheduled for deletion immediately
• You have a 30-day recovery window to reverse the deletion by contacting support
• During the recovery window, your tools are removed from the marketplace and notifications are disabled
• After 30 days, your personal information is permanently removed and your login credentials are permanently disabled

What Is Deleted After 30 Days

• Your name, email address, phone number, address, and profile photo
• Your tool listings and associated photos
• Payment method handles (PayPal, Venmo, Zelle)
• Notification history
• Login credentials (password permanently scrambled, account permanently disabled)

What Is Retained Anonymously (Up to 7 Years)

Certain records are retained after deletion, with your personal identifiers replaced by "Deleted User" and all identifying details removed:

• Completed rental transaction records (for tax compliance — IRS requires 7 years)
• Reviews you wrote or received (for platform history integrity)
• Chat messages tied to completed rental transactions (for dispute resolution)
• Trophy achievements and aggregate statistics

Anonymous retention is required because Naaabaaly is a marketplace between two parties. Even after you delete your account, the other user in each of your transactions retains their transaction history for the same legitimate purposes.

Active Account Retention

For active accounts (accounts not scheduled for deletion), we retain your information for as long as your account is active. We periodically review and delete data no longer needed for the purposes for which it was collected.

7. Children's Privacy

Naaabaaly is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will terminate the account and delete the associated data promptly. If you believe we may have information from a person under 18, please contact us at support@naaabaaly.com.

8. Third-Party Payment Services

Naaabaaly does not process payments. All user-to-user transactions occur through third-party payment services chosen by users, including:

• PayPal
• Venmo
• Zelle

When you use these services, their respective privacy policies apply. Naaabaaly does not receive or store your payment card, bank account, or transaction data from these services.

If you make in-app purchases (such as additional tool listing slots), those transactions are processed by Apple or Google under their respective terms and privacy policies. Naaabaaly does not directly receive payment information from these purchases.

9. Third-Party Links

Our platform may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these external sites. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.

10. International Users

Naaabaaly is intended for use by residents of the United States. Your information is processed and stored on servers located in the United States. If you access the app from outside the U.S., you consent to the transfer of your information to and processing within the U.S., which may have data protection laws different from those in your jurisdiction.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by email. The "Effective Date" at the top of this policy indicates when it was last updated. Your continued use of Naaabaaly after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
